Persian Garden is a small family kitchen in Sterling, Virginia. This page describes what this website does with information — in plain terms, and only what is actually true of the site as built.

The short version. This website has no accounts, no server of its own, and no database. It does not collect your name, address or payment details. What you put in the basket stays in your own browser. Buying and paying happen on Shopify, and those pages are governed by Shopify’s privacy policy, not this one.

Your basket stays on your device

When you add jars to the basket, the contents are saved in your browser’s local storage under the name pg-basket-v1, so your basket survives a page refresh. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

The “Send a Question” form

That form does not submit anywhere. It opens a pre-filled message in your own email app, with your basket written into the body. Nothing is transmitted or stored until you press send, and what you send goes to our inbox like any other email. If you would rather not use email, message us on Instagram instead.

Checkout

“Checkout” sends you to our Shopify store at persiangarden.store. Everything after that — your name, delivery address and payment — is handled by Shopify and the payment providers you choose. We never see or store full card details. Shopify’s own privacy policy applies to those pages.

Visitor counts

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which sections get read. It is cookieless and reports aggregate counts — it does not build a profile of you, follow you across other websites, or identify you personally.

Things loaded from elsewhere

Google Fonts. The typefaces are served by Google, so loading the page makes a request to Google’s font servers, which reveals your IP address to them.
Links out. Instagram and the Shopify store are separate services with their own policies. Following a link takes you out of this site.

What we never do

Sell, rent or trade your information
Run advertising or tracking pixels on this site
Set advertising cookies
Email you unless you emailed or messaged us first

Your choices

Because the site keeps nothing about you, there is very little for us to delete. If you have emailed or messaged us and want that conversation deleted, ask and we will remove it. For an order placed through the store, that record lives in Shopify — contact us and we will handle it there.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this ever changes — a contact form that really submits, a newsletter, anything that collects information — this page gets updated first, with a new date at the top.
